House of San Vicente Ferrer - Sight-Seeing in Valencia, Spain
Casa de San Vicente Ferrer

.

Home of San Vicente Ferrer (Casa de San Vicente Ferrer) in Valencia, SpainSan Vicente Ferrer was a XV century figure who became the patron saint of Valencia. He is still very revered and receives many prayers. This is the place where he was born. Now nothing is left of the actual house, a church and a chapel were built in its place. It is quite an interesting site, if only for how important it is to Valencia. When you come here you are likely to see someone praying feverently. The octagonal church is quite cosy and cute, and the entrance is a spectacular caleidoscope of XVIII century authentic Valencian ceramics from the famous Manises.
Although it is undoubtedly a curious place to see, don't fall for it when Home of San Vicente Ferrer is advertised as a museum - it is just an important chapel with a pretty entrance. For the same reason be aware that is an active church - trespass with respect.
