If you like odd and disorderly, you will love the Monocle. There is definitely something underground about this place, It is hard to describe it, so bizarre. Pumped full of UV-lights wall murals, it has the most diverse mixture of regulars in the entire area. From silly teenagers to well-dressed tourists, from dark characters to the remnants of the rave tribe, all kinds of people. There is a delicious air of recklessness and freedom of expression, a truly unpretentious and tolerant place. The music tends to appease with the usual pop, house, old beats and latin (mostly reggaeton) but they will also use every opportunity to go underground with deep house, bacalao techno, happy hardcore or whatever else tickles their fancy. Sometimes it breaks out into a spontaneous karaoke. You never know what to expect here. It also never gets too busy - plenty of space to socialise, with many tables to sit at around the dance floor.
