In terms of music Mar 52 is one of the most creative places in Valencia, always trying to have a packed programme of DJs. You could easily hear nights of techno, hip-hop, rock'n'roll, goth, drum'n'bass, whatever else is on the alternative, underground side, all in one week. Consequently, this place is a total chameleon - early in the night it is a luxurious chill-out lounge with an incredible, intimate interior. Later it usually gets a younger, alternative crowd to turn it into an underground hangout, and that crowd will be every time different, depending on the event. One thing for sure - it is always way, way off mainstream. This place would have been a huge hit in the heart of Carmen but since it is a bit out of the way, it gets less people, turning it into more of a pub with music events, than a club. That means you can breathe and mingle freely without having to survive. Unfirtunately, it is a stand-alone venue with no other nightlife around it but if you are around it is well worth popping in to see what's happening
