El Tornillo is tiny but it's a big name - synonymous in Valencia with indie rock. With a very dynamic weekly programme of DJs, live acts and themed nights, El Tornillo keeps it fresh and up-to-date, bringing new indie names to the public, and reminding them of the old ones, both Spanish and foreign. It is a very small red box with a giant screw in the wall outside ("el tornillo" = a screw) but the fact that everyone is so close together is part of the charm, providing you are not claustrophobic. Buzzing to the limit - an energetic, truly cosmopolitan young crowd, happy and friendly. Mind - a little more dressed up and trendy than the rest of the area.
