More of a very late night disco-bar, Club Benavente is where many Canovas nights used to end up for many people, mainly because it was extremely cheap to drink in (by night-club standards) and it was the only place open till 8am with a free entry. It is one of those places that spill out onto the street in front of it, invading with the night time mayhem. It has recenly changed hands and has turned more towards rock but much of its public and atmosphere hasn't changed. Simple and no thrills but full of people and very lively. Cosmopolitan young crowd (Spanish, Europeans, Latin Americans, Africans). It is not a trendy, fashionable place - the vibe is unpretentious and open, with a very loose dress code (although the doorman sometimes gets picky about shoes).
