Estadio de Mestalla - the Mestaya Stadium in Valencia, Spain
Mestalla Stadium - Sight-seeing / Attractions in Valencia, Spain

(pronounced
"mestaya") While it is just a stadium for everyone else, for
the football fans Mestalla is a legendary home to the legendary team and
many of those who travel to Valencia choose to come over to have a look,
especially since it is not far from the city centre. The 55000 seats stadium
comes across as quite a feat considering it was built in 1923. It might
be of even more pressing interest to the football fans to see this veteran
some time soon - there is currently talk of demolishing the stadium and
building apartment blocks on the site to cover Valencia Football Club's
debts. Naturally, the club will move to a new, even bigger, stadium (70000
seats) but that one won't have 80 years of football under its belt. The
Club has a website with an option in English, where you can see match
timetables and prices. The tickets can be bought at the stadium in the
hours indicated on the right, usually a few days before the match. Alternatively
you can visit the Official Store of VCF on Calle Pintor Sorolla, 25 (
Paginas
Amarillas) in the city centre.
